Description: Photograph of the Public Service Company float, which was part of the 1952 Clifton, Texas centennial celebrations. This is a head-on view of a truck with a flatbed; a clothesline with clothing is strung across the bed and there is a couple dressed as pioneers on the float in addition to the driver. Buildings, parked cars, and other people are visible on either side of the street.

Description: Photograph of United States troops heading from Marfa, Texas, to the Mexican border. The uniformed men are piled into a line of open military trucks with covered beds. A note in the lower-right corner says "Transporting soldiers from Marfa to border by U.S. Army trucks." The image accompanied a written speech, with the caption: "These troops resisted Mexican bandits under the leadership of Pancho Villa who raided ranches and farms on both sides of the Rio Grande" (p. 8).
