Monument Commemorating the Founding of Fort Worth

Description: The monument commemorating the fort is a bronze casting set in a large granite stone located at the northwest corner of Belknap and Houston Streets. The site was selected by Major Ripley Arnold and Colonel Johnson. The post was referred to as Fort Worth although it was not formally designated as a fort until several months after it was established.
