Bale Tie.

Description: Patent for a new and improved tie for bales. This design calls for one long, flat piece of scrap metal to be folded over on itself twice so that there are four layers of metal as well as a loop (or "rib") on either end. Then, a hole should be cut through all four layers with a tapered opening through the edge; this design is cheaper and more durable than previous bale ties.

Description: Patent for a finger-exercising machine that is meant to improve the finger strength and flexibility of musicians. Mattress Making Machine.

Description: Patent for a new and improved mattress making machine. This design calls for a box with a hinged door and gauges that adjust the box to the desired width for mattress making. Additionally, slats at the bottom of the box and along the inside of the hinged lid have straps and pins that one uses to bind the mattress material after it fills the box.

Description: The man sitting left was Mr. N.W. Hunter, the son of the pioneer, Dr. James Hunter, who came to Texas in 1838 and lived in Ft. Houston. Mr. N.W. Hunter was the father of Miss Kate Hunter, Mrs. J.L. Carson, and Miss Pauline Hunter. He was also the great grandfather of Malcolm Hunter. Mr. Gideon Gooch stands on the left and Mr. J.P. Allen stands on the right. The man sitting on the right is unidentified.
