Description: Copy of transcript for a letter from James Bowie to Stephen F. Austin, reporting that Col. Jose de las Piedras has declared to be in favor of the Constitution of Santa Anna. Additionally, Piedras has been taken prisoner and that Bowie has assumed command of the 12th Regiment of the Infantry, formerly of Nacogdoches. He also requests that Austin gather and send 20 horse, cattle, or provisions to facilitate their cause.
