Description: This work provides an account of what the author terms the “heroic defense” of Ciudad Juarez against Pancho Villa’s forces. Description: Photograph of Mexican refugees fleeing during Pancho Villa's attacks. A large group of people are being loaded onto a flatbed train car; on the right, one unidentified man is helping a woman onto the train. The image accompanied a written speech, with the caption: "The people were loaded onto railroad cars and sent to El Paso to be relocated in Mexico near Juarez. Finally, in 1920, when Carranza was ousted as President of Mexico, Pancho Villa made peace with the government" (p. 9).

[Jose Chavarria and the Soldiers]

Description: Paper written for a history class at Marfa High School in 1968 by Ernest Mediano. The paper describes a scene in a photo where some cavalry soldiers are asking his grandfather Jose Chavarria to sell them a horse in Ruidosa, Texas. The soldiers were charged with keeping Pancho Villa out of the United States.
