G (Texas Volunteer Guard) on their collars. Davis, sitting below, wears a square cap decorated with an eagle, and the other soldier, standing above Davis at right, wears a campaign hat and appears to have the shoulder mark of a first lieutenant. Description: Photograph of an U.S. army vehicle in a military parade (part of the Searchlight Battalion, on maneuvers) passing through downtown Midland on April 7, 1941.
