[Croix de Guerre WWI medal]

Description: Photograph of a medal from the Byrd Williams Family Photography Collection, held by UNT Special Collections. It is the French Croix de Guerre from WWI. It has a red and green striped cloth with a bronze palm frond on it to signify that it was given to someone in the army. Description: Pair of boots or "High Button Shoes" of brown leather. The shoes, designed with pointed toes rounded at the tips, lace closed along center front with laces 16 holes high.
