Description: Photograph of a busy street scene in Midland, Texas. There is a crowd of people and wagons in the middle of the street. The photograph was taken on Christmas Day. Back of photograph: "A Midland far different from the one seen among will celebrate Christmas Monday. This picture was made at Midland on Christmas Day in 1892. It has been preserved by Lum Daugherty who sent it to the Pioneer Editor of the Star-Telegram."

Description: Photograph of homes on the southern side of Midland in 1892. The home at right, one-story and gable-roofed with a windmill, sits on the corner of Kentucky Avenue and Baird Street, and was the early home of J. H. Mims. The house at left, mostly identical to Mims', was the early home of Fred Cowden. Bare grassland surrounds the homes.
