Description: Patent for a combined tablet, copy, and bill holder meant to hold "file-pins in their operative and inoperative positions, to provide simple and improved means whereby a tablet or bills may be covered when not in use or when carrying the device, to protect the same from dirt, &c. and, furthermore, to provide improved means for supporting the holder in position for transcribing" (lines 12-18).

Bed-Slat Fastener.

Description: Patent for an improved construction of a bed-slat fastener, one "adapted to support a bed-slat firmly in position and to prevent the side rails of a bedstead from springing outward" (lines 14-16). Lantern.

Description: Patent for a lantern "in which a candle is used as a light-giving medium, and in which the chimney is tightly supported on the base of the lantern and around the candle, so that the light is fully protected against extinguishment by wind, and a cheap and convenient article is supplied" (lines 9-15). The lantern has a raised base with a candle socket in the middle, and the glass chimney is securely attached to the base. A frame and handle is attached to the base and top of the chimney.

Mantel

Description: Patent for an invention that can be applied to a mantel, consisting "essentially, of a flexible screen, guard, or shield adapted to wind upon a roller, the latter being housed in the space formed between the shelf off the mantel and the headboard" (lines 22-25). It is intended to prevent fire from getting into the from from the fire, control heat radiation, and provide a closure for the fireplace when it is not in use.

Revolving Cabinet.

Description: Patent for a revolving cabinet that "shall constitute a counter or a part of the same, or that may be used as a kitchen-table, and at the same time serve as a convenient receptacle for the safe storage of general articles of merchandise and household supplies, which shall be maintained in a clean and fresh condition and be easy to access" (lines 12-19). There is an opening on the counter to access the trapezoidal trays that can rotate underneath.
