[Custer Cox and Schoolchildren]

Description: Photograph of a group of boys and girls of various ages standing with Custer Cox in front of the door of a schoolhouse. The group is arranged in three rows, with younger children standing in the front and middle rows and older children standing on either side of Custer Cox in the back row. Description: Letter from Alice Griffin to the Charles B. Moore family. She writes that she is unwell and able to do little but tend to the baby. She says that Florence Dodd is unwell and Florence and her husband Tobe are having a hard time financially. She describes her baby, Lillian Griffin. Included with the letter are swatches of fabric that she has used to make clothing.

Kit Store and Ike Story Family

Description: Postmaster Isaac Henry “Ike” Story sits in front of the post office and general store for the community of Kit. The sign on top of the building spells out the name of Kit, but with an eye instead of an "i". People in photo: Nancy Story (wife), Ike Story, Lillie Leona Story Kinney (daughter), Opal Elizabeth Kinney (granddaughter), and Sallie Jane Story Bell (daughter). The Kit community was about a mile east of where Irving would be established in 1903.
