Description: Patent for improvements in rope-cutters by designing a “cutter having a slotted bracket with a lateral extension or bearing that has a longitudinal slot and a stop,” with a “combination of a lever-handle having a projecting knife-blade, registering with the slot in the bearing.” (Lines 81-86) This enable the rope to be cut in a single operation without sever the fibers.
