Description: Maternity ensemble of black silk faille. (a) Top has a short shawl collar with double layer short sleeves, top layer of sleeve is split into tulip shape. Three button center front closure with circular self-covered buttons. A-lined and very wide at the bottom. Unlined with built-in shoulder pads. (b) Skirt is mid-length with elastic waist and two small slits at center front and center back hem. Unlined.

Description: Evening gown of heavy, white silk brocade. Sleeveless; full length princess style. Bateau neckline with small V cut at center front. Center back zipper with snaps. Back of dress opens at waistline with 1" wide drawstring tie of self at center back which gives back of dress a bustle effect when tied. Bodice unlined; skirt lined in white silk. Designer's label at center front neckline: "Balenciaga / 10, Avenue George V. Paris" Stamped style number tag beneath designer's label: "5471"

Hat

Description: Pillbox style hat of mustard yellow dyed Persian lamb (aka astrakhan). The short, cylindrical crown has a flat, inset top of brown velvet. The hat is lined in a bronze silk(?), and has inner brown grosgrain ribbon headband. Brown elastic cord to help secure it to wearer's head.
