Silliman was the proprietor of Silliman and Company – a Palestine business founded in 1871, and one of the largest hardware stores in the region. Silliman married Laura Brook, the architect, James Frith Brook's, daughter, in 1920. The family later moved to 638 S. Magnolia.

[John H. Reagan Statue in Reagan Park]

Description: Photograph of a statue of John H. Reagan that resides in Reagan Park in Palestine. Statue was created by Pompeo Coppini originally commission in 1906 by the Daughters of the Confederacy. The statue was eventually placed on a base that had been moved from Avenue A to Reagan Park and the completed project was dedicated 1911.

[Anderson Campground - Brushy Creek Arbor]

Description: This is a photo of the Anderson County Campground. There is a Texas Historical Commission Marker at the site, which was dedicated on September 6, 1981. That same day a National Register of Historic Places designation was also given to the site. Commonly called the Brushy Creek Arbor, Anderson Campground has a long and well known history.
