Baling Press
Patent for a baling press. Illustration included.
Baling-Press.
Patent for improvements in baling-presses by using a four-sided baling box/chamber with supporting-upright doors arranged at the top, at the front and one of the sides of the box. These doors can be hinged at diagonally-opposite corners of the box; locking-bolts are pivoted at the free end of the each door, the top door with locking-bar sliding through apertures in the uprights and the lever for operating the top door. Illustration is included.
Bridle and Bit.
Patent for improvements to Bridles and Bits, specifically what are known as stranglers, used to easily gain control over an animal by exerting pressure on its nose, operated by a slight pull on the auxiliary reins. This patent also provides for a device which activates the strangler when the driver releases it and the animal steps on it.

Churn Dasher.
Patent for a new and improved churn-dasher for butter churns. This design calls for two weights on opposite ends of the bottom of the churn-dasher so that the dasher will "revolve with greater force and to balance it more easily upon its pivot" (lines 17-18). This lessens the wear on the bottom of the churn, which increases the longevity of the dasher.

Patent for steam-powered screw-press for pressing cotton.
Fire-Escape.
Patent for improvements in fire-escapes by enabling the fire-escapes, “when not in use, to be compactly folded and arranged within a house or other building and capable of being quickly placed in position for use and of enabling persons and goods to be rapidly lowered to the ground with perfect safety.” (Lines 14-19) Illustration is included.

Patent for dispensing liquid, such as gasoline, to automobile owners without an assistant. The apparatus should not become inoperable after a short period of time, and could be called a self-selling gasoline station.

Patent for a distributor for "pulverized paris-green, londonpurple, arsenic, and other poisons in a dry state over cotton and other plants" that is "of exceedingly simple and durable construction and capable of attachment to any form of cultivator, and also to provide a means whereby the poison to be delivered from the machine may be regulated as to quantity in a convenient and expeditious manner, and, further, to provide a means whereby the poison as delivered from the machine will be spread over the plants at each side of the machine" (lines 11-24).
