Records of the War of the Rebellion include copies of naval correspondence (reports, letters, telegrams, and general orders) from both the Union and Confederate Navies discussing their operations. According to the introduction in the first volume, the second series contains "reports, orders, and correspondence relating to -- 1. The condition of the Union Navy in 1861, before the commencement of hostilities, and to its increase during the progress of the war, including the annual and special reports of the Secretary of the Navy and chiefs of the various bureaus. 2. The construction and outfit of the Confederate Navy, including privateers, setting forth also the annual and special reports of the Confederate Secretary of the Navy and chiefs of bureaus. 3. Patent for clothes hanger that is made of a singular piece of wire. The hanger also features the capability to hold an entire three piece suit: coat, vest, and trousers.
Cultivator.
Patent for a riding cultivator that keeps the shovel gangs positioned "parallel with the line of the draft, or with the longitudinal axis of the machine" (lines 19-21), by shifting them in the direction that the driver guides the wheels. The cultivator also provides a means to keep the depth of cultivation as uniform as possible when working on uneven ground or in different kinds of soil.

The invention permits the controlling of the direction of movement of the behicle by disconnecting the source of power from the wheel(s) at one side while those at the other side contrinue to rotate under power. The invention allows for braking to be used to slow the motion of the tractor on downward grade or when it is desired to stop.

Patent for improvements to a previous patent application for a tractor (Serial No. 399599, filed 1920-07-28). The improvements include rearrangements of parts for the driving wheels from the front to the rear and the rearrangement of the transmission housing.

The carrier inside the holder is removable (line 15); as carried in this holder, the fuses are "held under strong tension," with a mechanism allowing easy retrieval of a "fresh fuse" if necessary (line 18).
