Description:
Patent for a new and improved end-gate fastener. This design "consists in the hook-ended lever-buckle . . . for drawing up and fastening the ends of chains used on presses, wagons, and other places where a simple and convenient device that can be readily and quickly operated is needed" (lines 8-13).
