Description: Patent for "sliding doors for freight cars, stock cars, &c., in which the car door is suspended at its upper end by means of suitable hangers engaging a track or guide rail extended above and to one side of the door-way in such manner that the door, when unfastened, may be made to slide sidewise to give access to the interior of the car." Description: Patent for a simple and economical stalk breaking machine "which shall admit of the team straddling the adjoining row, and the driving wheel to run in the furrow or stubble" (lines 11-13). The driver sits on one side so they do not get hit with debris. The frame and stalk breakers mechanism are mounted on the running gear of a mower or reaper, and is easily disconnected.
