The knee pad consists of a frame made of "one piece of spring wire of rather coarse gage, a roller revolubly attached to the front end of the frame, and cloth or canvas stretched across the frame" (lines 23-27). The cloth is easy to remove and replace.

- Patent for an improvement in spurs, this one containing a forked end with a rowel on each end of the fork. This is to ensure the rowels have a broad surface adjacent to each rowel and to prevent less injury to an animal when in use.
- Pump-Piston.
- Patent for an improved pump piston used to pump oil from deep wells. The main improvement in this piston is that it is less susceptible to damage from sand or sediment by keeping sediment out of the piston valve, thus preventing it from accruing any long term damage that may render the piston irreparable. This design is also capable of fixing any wear due to sand or grit without removing the piston from the well.
