It was a disappointment for her because she had told Mrs. White Linnet was coming. She doesn't know what she is going to do for the summer, she doesn't want to go home. She mentions that everyone will be out of town and she got invited to go to New Mexico, but she doesn't know if she has funds and is waiting to hear from someone. She still plans to go visit Linnet in September and while there to see Mrs. Johnson's home. She talks about her new hat and her new dress. She thinks she will take more classes. She asks that Linnet write a long letter.
