A hand written note on the back reads, "Mary Portfield Hickman, born June 30, 1846 - Nacogdoches, Tex. Her parents came from the state of Miss. Attended school in Austin, kept by B. J. Smith. Sept. 29, 1869 married N. F. Hickman. Died Liberty Hill, Tex. Oct. 8, 1926." Many descendants are listed on the back of the photograph.

[Grave Marker of Andrew Whitley]

Description: Photograph of the grave marker of Andrew Whitley in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Williamson County, Texas. It reads: "Andrew Whitley, born February 10, 1872. Died September 2, 1901. One less to love on Earth, one more to keep in heaven." Several other headstones can be seen beside and behind Whitley's. The left bottom corner of the photo has been ripped away.
