Description: Letter from H. Darrell Hay to John J. Herrera (including envelope) requesting Herrera's assistance in filing a suit against the attorney who represented Hay in his murder trial who had promised, after Hay was convicted to prison, to send Hay's possessions to his wife at the attorney's own expense. The attorney then did not forward the possessions on and was subsequently asking for compensation to do so, for which Hay could not pay.

Description: Letter from Judge Thomas H. Routt sent out to his previous supporters (this one address to attorney Angel Fraga) informing them of his campaign deficit and requesting each recipient donates $100. The letter is typed on paper headed by a logo reading: "Keep Judge Routt: A good judge...of character." John J. Herrera is listed as part of the Campaign Steering Committee. A handwritten note in the bottom-right corner reads: "Glad to help judge. Congrats on the promotion up! Judge Angel Fraga."
