Floor and ceiling are finished wood. There is a counter partly visible with four metal stools. Six glass display cases and two electric ceiling fans are visible. Noted on back of photo - Sam Harben on right, early 1900s. Additional information: Cardui was a patent medicine used to reduce menstrual problems. It was 19% alcohol and included Blessed Thistle, Black Haw and Golden Seal.

The handwritten message on the back of the postcard is addressed to "Uncle Henry" and says, "I was glad to hear from you. I ought to have answered sooner. It is true we are drifting that way but we are so scattered I don't know whether we could all get there together or not. I have always thought I would like to live in California on account of the climate. I don't think we will remain here much longer but I can't say just where we will go. This leaves us well. I hope it will find you the same."

The postcard adds the following information, "The White House has been the home of the Presidents, from the time of John Adams to the present. Washington selected the site, laid the corner-stone in 1792, and with his wife inspected the finished building in 1799. The building is of Virginia freestone. After the house had been fired by British troops in 1814, and only the walls were left standing, the restored exterior was painted white to obliterate the marks of the fire." The letter reads, "Wish you were here now. The city looks good as ever, am having a beautiful time. With best wishes and regards, Bon B. Graylon."
