The back of the postcard adds, " "Linden" is one of the extremely old mansions of Natchez - known to have existed as far back as 1790. Fan lights and door side lights feature Gallery. Cherry was from San Antonio but attended Schreiner Institute before joining the U. S. Navy and serving in WWII. Description: Postcard of a cobblestone walkway overlooking a winding river that splits two hills. The message on the border reads, "He and Irene in Houston for funeral." The back of the postcard adds, "Hawk's Nest is located on U. S. Route 60 overlooking the New River Canyon. It was once called Marshall's Pillar for Chief Justice John Marshall.
