The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Lewis Asher. Asher was born 24 December 1919, in Maywood, Illinois. He graduated from high school in 1937 and was drafted into the Army on 10 December 1941. After basic, he was assigned to the 125th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division as company clerk in the Headquarters company.
