Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Robert Schurmeier. Schurmeier joined the Navy in September of 1944. He completed ordnance training and was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi. He served as a gunner aboard PBMs and PBYs, conducting weekly submarine patrols between Corpus and Guantanamo Bay.
