Will Willis in the 1850s

Description: Photograph of Will Willis in the 1850s. He was a wealthy man who owned a plantation in Alabama. He was Ethel Bryant's uncle. Her mother often told stories of how Uncle Will had hidden valuables in a turkey nest and water well from the Union Army during the Civil War. In this photo he wears a suit and tie. This photo was included in a research paper by Mike Shurley for an American History class at Marfa High School in 1968.

[Women at San Esteban Dam]
