The upper details of the stonework include carved eagles, carved shields, fluted columns, and medallions, set off by quarry-faced limestone walls and pilasters. The words "Lamar County Court House" are written across the front of the building hear the roof and there are light fixtures above the shield over the door.

Lamar County Courthouse Entrance
Photograph of the Lamar County Courthouse east entrance in downtown Paris, Texas. The cornerstone from the 1896 courthouse at this location is incorporated in the lower-right of the portico. The courthouse has Classic Revival-style architecture, however the entrances are designed similar to the Romanesque style of the old courthouse. The portico has Roman arched openings, short (Syrian) columns, polished red granite columns with carved stone capitals and bases. This offers continuity from old to new and creates a building with mixed styles of architecture.

1916 First National Bank Building
Photograph of 1916 First National Bank building on the Plaza Square in downtown Paris, Texas. This building has a Texas Historical Commission historical marker outlining its history on the center column. The building is in the Classic Revival style and the upper part is ornamented with a white stone top cap that is supported by white stone carved consoles (brackets). The top floor is set back and has an ornamental white stone string course around the top of the next floor down, the top floor of the main part of he building. The windows are grouped in twos, threes, and fours, separated by red brick pilasters. Between the pilasters, the windows have a white stone string course forming the window ledges, and the tops of the windows have lentils for brick support. The ground floor has been modified to accommodate the Capital One Bank. The ground floor walls and foundation was built of steel reenforce concrete.

It appears necessary repairs have been made to preserve the building. Downtown Paris was rebuilt after the March 21 - 22, 1916 fire. The architecture style is predominantly Classic Revival. Both buildings in this photograph reflect Classic Revival style. After decades of repairs, remodeling, and upgrades downtown Paris is still dominated by the Classic Revival style. The 1917 Lamar County Courthouse and the 1916 First National Bank are in Classic Revival Style. The original name of the building is unknown; the date medallion shows two dates, 1851 - 1916, The Wildey IOOF Lodge entrance on First Street SW has a date of 1921 above it. There is a IOOF sign on the upper front corner.

Paris Texas Plaza Theater
Photograph of the Paris Community Theatre in downtown Paris, Texas. Also known as the 1927 "Plaza" Theater. It was built during the time of Art Deco-style influence, which featured vertical lines, as in the two tall sides of the front with arches, the arches are repeated over the four windows. The tall, slender, white stone columns are in a spiral pattern. The cornice brackets (consoles) are curved and the red tile roof repeats curves.
