She has had dry weather until yesterday and it hasn't stopped raining since. She talks about Dinkie's garden. She is worried about Tobe and Linnet. Dinkie writes that colds are going around. Mattie stayed with Birdie. Dinkie has a hundred chicks and two hens; she milks four cows and has so much milk. She has no hogs to give the milk to because they are all dieing of cholera. She also has to deal with mad dogs.
Matilda writes that everyone is gone because they went to the concert in Union. She mentions the cold weather they have had. She recommends keeping Linnet inside until the weather is better. She mentions a bill passed in Oklahoma in relation to the Native Americans and possible fighting. Dinkie writes about the concert she went to and how everyone enjoyed it. She mentions the weather and says that Willie is going to Love school with Mr. Griffin. She visited Bettie and says that Mollie Love and Mrs. Tolbat are doing well. She has not heard from Tobe. She then describes which fabric belongs to who.

His health and the health of his wife and Lyke are well. Lyke and him went to go visit Lou Wallace. He also visited with Wallace's mother, Bet Wallace, Jimmy Wallace and one of Bet's sons. He met both of Dr. Bill Love's sons. He did not learn a lot about his relatives while there and so won't try to remember what he did. He was glad to hear that Moore and the rest of his family was doing so well. He then talks about his religious beliefs. He will try to visit with them when they come visit.
