Abilene weather constantly changing
f
UWOafNUftLU
Holly Rosser
Student Reporter
Texas weather over the last week has been
doing what It does best - changing.
Appropriate attire for last Friday afternoons
snowy weather coat hat and gloves but for
Saturday: shorts T-shirt and bare feet.
"Thats typical Texas weather" said John
Maples sophomore youth and family ministry
major from Henderson.
Maples and other friends spent time outside
on Saturday roller-blading and enjoying the
warm sunshine. "The whole time l was thinking
this is crazy" said Maples "it snowed yester-
day." Usually Tcxans.'like Maples just shake their
head at this wacky weather and consider it
well normal.
But for students from far-away places the
weather seems weird.
"Its irritating" said Jessica Richard sopho-
more business management major from Lan-
caster Calif. "You're freezing in the morning
and hot in the afternoon."
Richard said she has to go home and change
clothes when the afternoon heat waves hit. Dur-
ing last weeks snowy spell she stayed inside
but spent the day out on Saturday.
The warm temperatures she said reminded
her of home. "I come from the hot desert where
the weather always stays the same."
Not so here.
The weather outlook for Friday and the rest
of the weekend is forecast to be drastically dif-
ferent than earlier this week. A chance of rain
looms overhead with a high of 58 degrees and
possibly freezing temperatures overnight with a
low of 31 degrees.
For updated weather information a phone
call to the NBC 9 weather line gives time and
temperature information at 696-8484. s sC t
