Leona Fricke Martin, Meridian sub-chairman, claims long residence in both Clifton and Meridian.
For many years, Mrs. Martin was in business with her husband, the late Dock Martin.
Marilyn Edwards Vandiver (Mrs. Harold) has served as Morgan sub-chairman. Though much of
her life has been spent in other parts of Texas, Mrs. Vandiver has strong ties with Bosque County.
As a child, she lived in Clifton, and a few years ago, she and her husband chose Morgan as their
retirement home.
Frances Lemmons Johnson (Mrs. H.W.) has been sub-chairman for Valley Mills. Mrs. Johnson
is a leader in the Valley Mills Heritage Society and other historical organizations.
Mozelle Davidson Hensley (Mrs. L.B.) has served as sub-chairman for Walnut Springs. A resident
of Walnut Springs since 1947, Mrs. Hensley worked for many years with her husband in the
insurance business.
In order for the committee to benefit from the knowledge and experience of two writers and
authorities in regional history, Mrs. Jenson appointed two consultants:
(1) Dr. William C. Pool, descendant of Bosque County pioneers and Professor of History at
Southwest State University at San Marcos, Texas, has been an invaluable help in this project.AL
