O. Hawkins of San Antonio, and
Mr and Mrs Jack C Frost Jr
The groom is the son of Mr and
Mrs. Robert Schauer of
Houston
The Rev. G. Douglas Beasley
officiated at the ceremony
Organ music was provided by
Grover McNeil
The bnde, given in marriage
by her father, wore a gown of
ivory-hued satin with a lace
bodice and lace sleeves en-
chanted by appliques of pearls
Her gown featured a cathedral-
length train and her veil of
sheer illusion was edged in lace
matching the gown. She car-
ried an arrangement of silk
flowers featuring three large
white orchids with lilac centers
surrounded by baby orchids
and baby's breath
Dr. Kathy Raesz of Eglin,
sister of the bride, attended as
matron of honor Bridesmaids
were Misses Catherine Corbett
and Christine Corbett of Dallas,
and Mrs Helen Davis of
Garland. The attendants wore
lilac gowns covered with mat-
ching sheer floral capes. They
earned arrangements of silk
lilac apple blossoms and white
baby's breath
Paul Schauer. brother of the
groom, attended as best man
Groomsmen were Dr, Car!
Weber III of San Antonio. Dale
Coleman of 1-ubbock and Doug
Mann of Corpus Christi. Serv-
ing as ushers were Kete
Hawkins of San Antonio,
brother of the bride; and
Robert E. Raesz Jr., the bnde's
brother-in-law.
The mother of the bride was
dressed in floor-length mint
green chiffon. She wore a
wnstlet of three silk ivory roses
and baby's breath The mother
of the groom wore a long
apricot chiffon gown Her cor-
sage was ivory and apneot silk
roaes and baby's breath Each
mother was presented with a
long-stemmed white rose at the
close of the ceremony
The altar of the church was
decorated with four
candelabra, a utility
candelabrum and two Large silk
flower arrangements of white
gladiolas and peonies with lilac
apple blossoms The mothers of
the bride and groom each
lighted one of the candles on the
unity candelabrum before the
ceremony began
Miss Jackie Frost and Miss
Holly Frost, sisters of the
bride, ana Mrs Ann Hawkins of
San Antonio, the bnde's sister-
in-law, were members of the
house party They helped
register the guests and handed
out programs and rice bags
The ballroom of the Marriott
Hotel was the site of a formal
reception following the
ceremony The bride's table
held a three-tier strawberries
and whipped cream cake
decorated with lilac flowers
The cake was skirted by a
green garland decorated with
baby’s breath and lilac roses
The groom's table held a Ger-
man chocolate cake shaped in
interlocking rings and a
chocolate cake. Hot and cold
hors d' oeuvres were served
The bride received a
bachelor of business ad-
ministration degree from The
University of Texas at Austin,
and also was graduated from
St. Mary's School of luw at San
Antonio
The groom was graduated
from Texas Tech University at
Lubbock, and The University of
Texas Dental School at San An-
tonio. He is associated with Dr
Kathy Raesz at Elgin
The couple left on a honey-
moon trip to Cancun following
the wedding

xi Mu Gamma Bride-Elect
Members Plan Cruise Honored
Xl Mu Gamma opened the
1981-82 year with their first
meeting Monday evening, Sept
14, at the home of Ginme Holli-
day.
Adrienne Sutton served as co-
hostess in the absence of Sara
Wood who is hospitalized this
week
President Stella Beck presid-
ed at the meeting. Final plans
were made for the annual bake
sale to be held from 8:30 a.m
until all items are sold, on
Saturday, Sept 19, at the
H E B
Pat White, social chairman,
advised plans had been made
for the sorority members to
take a cruise Saturday night.
Sept. 19, on the Gulf Clipper at
the T-Head in Corpus Christi
Anyone planning to go on the
cruise was advised to arrive at
the boat by 7:30 p.m.
Sutton, ways and means
chairman, asked members to
sign up for assignments for the
second annual Halloween party
to be held for Portland
youngsters from 6 to 8 p.m. on
Oct. 31 at T. M Clark gym
Many events are being planned
to make the event bigger and
better than the previous year.
It was decided events should be
planned for the two to 10 year
age group
It was decided that Xi Mu
Gamma will not host a booth at
the area convention to be held
next year in Portland Anita
Burke, convention chairman,
announced that all committees
for the convention should hold
their committee meetings and
develop a budget as quickly as
possible
President Beck announced
that Xi Mu Gamma achieved a
three-star rating with Beta
Sigma Phi International for the
1980-81 year. Jo Cushion was
the winner of a door prize dur-
ing the meeting
The program on "Woman,
Her Heritage and Her Hope",
was given by Holliday Each
member was asked to name
women of the past and present
whom they admired and why
They discussed the heritage
they would most like to pass on
to their children
Beck announced the next
meeting of Xi Mu Gamma
would be held on Monday. Sept '
28, at the home of Belinda Del
Bosque with Sandy Bartosh as
co-hostess
Refreshments of chips, dips,
cheeses, fresh vegetables,
crackers and iced tea were
served to Pam Delaney, Shar-
ron Vaniandinghain and
Mesdames Burke, White, Beck,
Sutton. Del Bosque, Bartosh,
Holliday and Cushion

Plans Made
Delta Zeta alumnae lield
their first meeting of the fall on
Thursday, Sept. 10, in the home
of Bonnie Giltner
President Sandra Miller con-
ducted the business meeting
Plans for the coming months
were discussed including par-
ticipation in the Christmas
Tree Forest in conjunction with
the Regional School for the
Deaf, Santa letters, a garage
sale in the spring, and a possi-
ble night at the Harbor
Playhouse.
Refreshments were served
following the business meeting
Karen Schena, bride of Gary
Doty, was recently honored
with wedding showers prior to
her Sept 12 wedding
A pantry and recipe shower
was held on Aug 30 at the home
of Mrs. lurry Gardiner in Cor-
pus Christi. Mrs Joe Beard and
Mrs Jody Beard of Mathis ser-
ving as co-hostesses
The hostesses presented the
bride-to-be with a wooden
recipe box.
Two heart-shaped cakes,
decorated in the rainbow colors
of the wedding, along with
punch and nuts were served to
17 guests.
The groom's grandmother,
Mrs. A. V. Vickers, and the
groom's aunt, Mrs ''Butch''
Vickers, along with help from
Mindy and Jennifer Vickers,
were co-hostesses for a rice bag
tying party on Sept 2.
Twelve guests attended and
were served an assortment of
cookies and soft drinks
