December.
MaryJOe has appeared at
the Bartlett Opryland several
times and is sometimes
accompanied by her 6 year
old brother who also sings.
MaryJo has been singing
for the past seven months
and is making quite a big hit.

students at the Holland school
The Texas American
Legion Auxiliaries are
sponsoring the sale of Bob
Hope's Thanks for the Mem-
ories 1983 Photo Calendars.
The calendars will feature
approximately fifty photos of
Bob Hope taken during
appearances before
military personnel during the
years 1943 to 1972. These
photos many of which In-
clude audiences will stir
memories of ex-servicemen
and women from World War
11 as well as from the Korea
and Viet Nam eras.
Proceeds from the sale of
the calendars will provide
funds for state and local
programs and projects of the
American Legion Auxiliary
in Texas. Net proceeds will
also benefit the USO the
Eisenhower Medical Center
Bob Hope college scholar-
ships and other Bob Hope
charities.
President Truman gave
Bob Hope the title of "the
GI's Guy" and for over forty
years Hope has entertained
GI's. Since May 6 1941 when
he played his first camp show
at March Field Calif. Bob
Hope has entertained at least
ten million GI's in every
theater of war. Hope enter-
tained at every service
camp Naval base and hos

Brother David E. McDon-
ald of Hollis Oklahoma will
be the evangelist for a
Hevival to be held at the First
Baptist Church in Bartlett
December 5-10.
Youth Evangelist will be
Mark Ware while Harry
Crawford will be leading
special music.
Services will be held each
night beginning at 7:00 PM.
McDonald was a stock-
broker for 14 years before
entering the ministry.
He holds degrees from
Crlswcll Bible College and
Patriot Bible College In
Dallas and has attended
North Texas State Univer-
sity Southern Methodist
University and Luther Rice
Seminary.
He is married and has
three children.

radio shows and guest spots
and nearly 500 television
shows plus many guest ap-
pearances. A list of his
motion pictures with dates a
very lengthy list of awards
citations honorary degrees
and other personal facts are
included. His eight books
numerous college shows and
five command performances
in England are also mention-

coast combined with an
upper level disturbance in
the panhandle to produce a
cold wet Thanksgiving In the
local aroa.
The upper level disturb-
ance allowed a blast of Artie
air to slip into the state while
the low pressure storm along
the coast fed moisture into
the system.
The cold wet weather
arrived on Tuesday
November 23 in the local
area and dominated the
weather scene through Satur-
day. Showers produced around
two inches locally.
Accompanied by northerly
winds of 20 to 30 MPH the

City Of Bartlett Named In Suit
BELTON - The city of
Bartlett and a Maynard man
have been named as defen-
dants in a wrongful death suit
filed by the family of a
Bartlett man who died in 1980
after the ambulance he was
riding in and a car collided.
The family of Mclehor
Mesa 83 who died after a
Nov 23 1980 accident near
Little River-Academy initia-
ted the suit Monday against
the city of Bartlett and
Timothy McTaggert 23 of
Maynard. The suit was
assigned to Judge J. F.

The Williamson County
Youth Fair will be held on
December 2 and 3 in the
community building on the
San Gabriel Park.

Observe Busy Month
The Holland Senior
Citizens have been meeting
each Tuesday and Thursday
In November with large
crowds attending enjoying
fellowship and games of
dominoes 42 cards and
triominocs.
On November 14th they
observed Armistice Day with
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Latham as
special guests. Mr. Latham
represented the American
Legion Post No. 520 giving an
interesting talk on what
Armistice really means. He
then presented on behalf of
the Post a U.S. Flag to the
Kuhlmann Civic Center;
after which he lead the group
in the Pledge of Alligiance to
the Flag.
On November 15th the
senior citizens sponsored a
salad supper which was very
delicious and enjoyed by all
who attended.
On November 18th the
Holland senior citizens gave
a special recognition to their
coordinator and husband
Mr. and Mrs. Felix Bids in
honor of their 52nd wedding
anniversary. A poem was
read by Mrs. Gertrude Weiss
which was dedicated to them.
On Wednesday November
24th the members of the
Holland senior citizens group
observed Thanksgiving. The
group sang hymns of praise
with rs. Weiss leading in song
accompanied by Mrs. Ruy
Lee Gray at the piano. Mrs.

giving. The steering committee of
Holland senior citizens met
on November 18th to elect
officers for the coming year

dent Mrs. Gertrude weiss.

treasurer Mrs. Erna Howe
and reporter Mrs. Mary
Eckcrmann.
New membors elected on
council were Jesse Wallace
Georgia Allison. Members
remaining are Laura Jes-
chke Lottie Thompson Ruby
Lee Gray Andy Johnson and
J. H. Howe. They also voted
to give $100.00 to the Kuhl-
mann Civic Center to apply
on the replacing of new
doors.
