Spencer also said that "the game" looked very good all
over the country but that he was going to "play" for
awhile in MIiami, Florida, to which place he was now
on his way.
"However," he remarked, "I think I'll stop off a
few days in Jacksonville; so many of the boys are
down there, and I like to keep up with the 'gang' and
find out who the 'new suckers' are."
This was certainly most interesting news to me, and
as I had just succeeded in selling my option on the
10,000 acres of the Slaughter ranch with the return of
my $5,000, I was prepared to continue the chase.
