Banquet, Sale
March 12 was chosen as date for the annual
Girl Scout Father-Daughter Banquet at the
recent Crosbyton Neighborhood meeting in
the Bob Butler home. The event will be held
from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Camp Rio Blanco
with each troop having a part in the program
to show their fathers what the girls are
achieving in Scouting.

Bob Butler asked to be replaced as finance
chairman. The group decided to ask the help
of sponsors, Crosbyton Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment, in conducting the drive.
Training sessions for new Brownie leaders
also were discussed. The two new leaders
stated they would be taking the training.
Present were Mmes. Janice Dwyer, Anne
Butler, Frances Flournoy, Mary Colmer, Linda
Stephens, Rosemary English, Beth. Bob Butler
also attended the meeting.
. AREA MEETING*
’ The meeting adjourned to allow leaders to
attend the Area 4 conference at the Girl
Scout House in Ralls.
Suggestion that towns join for neighborhood
meetings due to the energy shortage was
decided against.
Plans for the Cookie Sale were discussed.
After lunch, new equipment for this area
was shown and . applications for use were
distributed. The equipment is as follows:
8 round-up floored tents, ketchen fly, 2 nested
kettles, snovel, hand axe, grill, water can, 2
buckets, reflector oven, Z rubber mallets,
2 Dutch ovens and a bow saw.
This equipment was purchased with profits
from the Girl Scout Cookie Sale and will
be used only by troops in this area.
FUND DRIVE DISCUSSED
On Jan. 23 a meeting was attended by Pat
Harris and Sharon Washburn of Lubbock, John
Shehand of Kansas City, Si Swindall, Bob and
Anne Butler to discuss the annual Girl Scout
fund drive. Swindall represented-Crosbyton
Volunteer Fire Department, which will head
the drive. <
Crosbyton has 103 girls registered as of
Jan. 1 with four more registering this month.
Crosbyton is the only town in our ajrea to
increase the number of Girl Scouts over the
'72- 73 registration. It was decided to stage
the dbive following the annual Father-Daughter
Banquet to be held March 12.
