ABOUT CREDITS
New students will be given credit for such of their Bible work as
is up to our standard. Our courses are on the same level of schalorship
as similar courses given in the strongest "seminaries" and
"schools of theology." We expect our students to enter with any of
their graduate classes and make high marks toward the degrees given.
Our courses are fuller than those offered by such schools. We
are not, this year, giving our entire curriculum, but what we do
give will be on an exacting standard.
In Bible we have a year for each year of College. These need
not be taken in the same order in which they are numbered, though
that order may be best. In addition we have two years for special
students of the Bible. These will, ordinarily, be given to those who,
after finishing their B. A. degree, remain two years for our special
Bible courses.
From the Special Bible Department the student may select College
credits from the following courses: Hebrew, Greek, Sociology, Bible,
Christian Pedagogy, Church History, Missions (as History), and
Public Speaking (really a College course). Not more than one-fifth
of the work required for the B. A. degree can be chosen from the
Bible Department.
The courses of the Bible Department counted on the College degree
may also be counted at the same time toward any of the diplomas or
courses in the Bible Department. In this way the student may finish
theeentire three-year course within two years after finishing the College
work. But no student will be allowed to take any courses for
which he does not evince the necessary preparation.
It will be seen-by the student that we give credit for every quarter
of every course. Thus one may come here and take one or
more quarters and finish later. Our records show the credits the
students have deserved. We are very anxious to have ministers stay
with us through the winter term or the spring or fall terms, as suits
their convenience. By glancing over the courses given in the "winter
term," etc., one can see just what is available for any certain
quarter.
CERTIFICATES AND DIPLOMAS
We do not confer theological degrees. Professionalism is not to
be encouraged in any way whatever. The management of this school
try to hold up noble ideals of scholarship and character, but they do
not see their way to bestow ecclesiastical titles. The students who
finish our courses as they are outlined in detail below will receive certificates
and diplomas indicating the mark of classical distinction in
scholarship the student has attained. The records we keep of the work
and grades of the students will, with the outlines of our courses,
assure our students the credit they deserve should they go elsewhere
after being with us.
