68 ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
PURPOSE OF THE DEPARTMENT
Abilene Christian College is run on the basis that it is as much the
purpose of a school to provide atmosphere as it.is to give instruction
in literature and science. The aim of Abilene Christian College is to
provide an opportunity for a real education rather than to make a
commercial venture. The college is not run for financial gain, but
an effort is made to contribute to the happiness of our fellows by inspiring
and directing them to noble endeavor. To that end we have
gotten out teachers from among the best instructors to be had. They
are artists in their line. Most of them have been with us for some
time and we feel that we know them. The others come with such
unusual recommendations that we feel sure of their characters and
ability. -
