LATIN
115.-Virgil's Aeneid. Books II-IV or an equivalent number of
books. In this course the prosody of dactylic hexameter, the poet's
language and style, and classical mythology will be studied. Text:

125.-Livy. Book I and selections from Books XXI and XXII, or
from Pliny's Letters. A study of Roman life in the early empire.
133.-Latin Prose Composition. All students who elect Latin
115 and 125 are strongly urged to take this course.
142.--Roman Life. A study of the public and private life of the
Romans and of their institutions and customs. This course is open tostudents
regardless of their knowledge of Latin. It is valuable to.
students of history.
215.-Horace's Odes and Epodes. Study of versification and prosody
of lyric poems.
225.-Roman Religion. The history of the antiquities of religion
of the Romans. In addition to the native elements of the religion the
Greek and Oriental cults will be considered in so far as they were
introduced into Roman life. This course is of value to students of
the Bible.
315.-Cicero's Selected Letters or Essays. The'Letters are to be
read mainly for their value in showing the political conditions and
the relationship to the closing years of the Republic. Prerequisite,
courses 115, 125, and 215.
325.--Virgil. Study in Books VI-XII or the Georgics. Prerequisite,
courses 115, 125, and 215.
The five-hour courses outlined above may be shortened to threehour
courses for some classes under certain conditions. In such case
the ground covered will be shortened or will be made by selections
that afford the best study. Of course the courses will then count
for only three hours of credit. In numbering such courses on records
a 3 will stand for the 5 of the present numbering.
HEBREW
313.-The class begins with Harper's Method and Manual.. References
from it require Harper's Elements of Hebrew. A small lexicon
may be used to assist in locating some forms, but all students must
