SESSION OF 1920-'21
to afford full opportunity to study. After 7 p. m. there must be no
visiting from room to room. The time from 7 p. m. to 10:30 p. m., is
meant for study and students must not waste their time nor that of
others in idleness or frivolity.
Students will be permitted to go to town on Saturday from 4 to
6 p. m., and on Monday.
Tobacco must not be used in any form by students attending Abilene
Christian College. If you have the tobacco habit you will do well
to break off before coming. Alcoholic drinks, cards, profanity, vulgarity,
and other such vices will not be tolerated on the campus at any
time. If you have been indulging in these things and are not willing
to leave them off, do not come to Abilene Christian College. You will
do no good for yourself and you will injure others. We are willing to
help if you will help yourself. Otherwise you will be promptly dismissed.Attending balls, card parties, pool rooms, or such other places of
amusement as are calculated to interfere with studious habits and
good morals, is prohibited.
Hazing in all forms is prohibited.
Clubs and societies must not be formed without the permission of
the faculty.
Any student may be asked to resign without having committed a
special offense, provided that in the judgment of the committee on
discipline he is out of harmony with the interests of the school and
student life.
The faculty reserves the right to make any other regulations
deemed necessary for the well-being of the students and the interests
of the college.
Attendance at Religious Services
Attendance at Chapel services each school day is required of all
students.
The faculty reserves the right to dismiss any student who does not
attend church regularly. Experience has shown that the undesirables
are among those who do not attend church.
Assignment of Rooms
A student may be asked to change his or her room when the interest
of all may best be regarded by doing so.
No student will be permitted to select a boarding place that is not
satisfactory to the faculty.
No student will be permitted to change his boarding or rooming
place without permission from the faculty.
All students may be removed in a body from any private boarding
house at any time provided the proprietor does not co-operate with
the college.
The discipline committee shall have charge of the moving of any
or all students who are boarding elsewhere than in the college homes.
The occupants in the college homes will be held responsible for all
damages occurring therein.
- Absences
Students who are absent from class or examinations who are excused
are graded "F," and may be given an opportunity to make up
the work missed. All unexcused absences are graded "F" and no op33
