18 ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
these. Every school must have a faculty, equipment, and a student
body. We feel sure that after you have noted the excellency of our
faculty and our equipment in buildings and courses offered, you will
resolve to constitute a part of the third essential factor-namely, the
student body.
OUR PRESENT EQUIPMENT; NEW AND MODERN
Our equipment is practically new. It is all modern and usable, and
is worth two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Of course this is not
enough for a first-class college, but it is an excellent foundation. It
should be much easier to get the additional equipment that is needed
than it was to get what we have. We believe it will be. The organization
which has been gotten together as a result of years of work, the
recognition that is accorded the institution, the enthusiastic loyalty of
its students and patrons, and the character of its service give it the
right to ask for a united support. We are glad to be able to report
that the program for the enlarged service is being enthusiastically received
everywhere.
Administration Building
Our administration building has just been used one and a half years.
It is a brick and concrete structure, modern in design and construction.
Besides the basement, library and study hall, it contains sixteen excellent
class rooms, the three offices, and auditorium, all well furnished.
The auditorium is one of the very best west of Fort Worth. We can
care properly for four hundred students in this building.
Daisy Hall
This is our home for girls. It is an excellent brick and concrete
structure of three stories. It has all ordinary modern conveniences,
steam heat, running water in each room, two bath rooms on each floor,
with hot and cold water, and electric lights. It is nicely furnished
throughout. The library, reception parlor, and dining room are decorated
with Sister Sewell's beautiful oil, pastel and water color pictures
and hand painted china. The library contains Bro. Sewell's excellent
collection of more than seven hundred books.
Zellner Hall
This is a new, modern two-story brick building, first-class in every
way. The rooms are large and well arranged. Each room has two
large windows and a good closet. There is running water in each
room. There are two bath rooms, with hot and cold water, on each
floor. The halls are wide and roomy and there is a large reception
room. It is heated with gas and is well furnished throughout.
Laboratory
This is a new, substantial, frame building, well lighted, and heated
with gas. It is equipped with new, modern apparatus. During the
summer this building will be enlarged and equipment for all chemistry
to be offered next session will be installed.
In addition to this, the entire basement of the old administration
building will be equipped for physics and biology. All equipment is
bought.
