of Arts will be conferred upon those who satisfy the following
requirements:
REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION.
It is the purpose of Abilene Christian College to accept as
far as possible the idea of the elective system. In prescribing
the requirements for graduation certain modifications of the elective
system must be made in order that the interests of both the
student and the institution may be safeguarded.
First.-Each student will be required to satisfy the entrance
requirements of fifteen standard high school units.
Second.-Each student will be required to take the following
courses or their equivalent.
1. English, three courses, in addition to the work prescribed
for freshmen. Two of these courses must be English 215 and
225.
2. Foreign language, four courses above entrance. The four
courses must be in the same language.
3. Social Science, two courses.
4. Science, three and four-fifths courses in science, two in a
physical science and one and four-fifths in Biology. Girls may
take domestic science in place of biology.
5. Mathematics, two courses.
6. No credit will be given for freshman courses if taken in
the senior year except the course is a required course and the
student has had no previous opportunity to take it.
Third.-Each student will be required to elect by the beginning
of his junior year one of the following groups. The student
will be required to complete as many as seven courses, and not
more than ten courses in his major; as many as five courses, and
not more than seven courses in his first minor; and as many as
four courses in his second minor. An effort has been made in
grouping the work to arrange it in such a way that the minor
subjects will strengthen the major subjects and thus make the
students' specialization more effective.
1. The Clasical Group:
Major, Greek or Latin.
First Minor, Latin or Greek.
