_ _~ESION OF I 192'31
Abilene is the commercial center of Central West Texas and
the men who make it such give our schools both their financial
and moral support. Students are surrounded by really "big
men," and these men are of a very high order from the viewpoint
of morals and culture.
It is our sincere judgment that if we had no school started in
Texas and were going to start from the beginning to build a great
college, we could find no better location than Abilene. Visit
our institution and city and be convinced.
PURPOSE OF ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
The Christian men and women who make Abilene Christian
College possible have in mind the glory of God, through our
Lord Jesus Christ, and the ennobling of mankind. The promulgation
of truth and the building of Christian character are primary.
Sacrifices have been made and will be made to maintain
such secular courses as will give the greatest efficiency for the
several fields of human endeavor. To this end we are permitted,
by the grace of God and the kindness of consecrated men and
women, to offer the full work of an A-plus four-year college. In
addition we are able to offer special courses for Christian workers
and preachers of the gospel. Thus we are able to serve in a
special way the cause of Christianity. Our purpose is to develop
genuine Christian men and women, well equipped for efficient
service in any honorable field of human activity.
A FIRST CLASS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE.
No better organization is to be found, no better faculty for
such a school is to be had, and no stronger courses or better
courses are to be offered. Equipment meeting fully all requirements
for recognition is being rapidly installed. We
are asking you to join us in a great state-wide campaign for
the funds for the new buildings and endowment which will be
necessary to take care of this increased and growing work. Let
us at the earliest day possible provide these things.
EQUIPMENT.
There are three vital factors in every school. The standard
and efficiency of the school are measured in terms of each or
of all of these. Every school must have a faculty, equipment
and a student body. We feel sure that after you have noted the
excellency of our faculty and our equipment in buildings andSESSIO310N OF 1922 2-'233
