COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
(2) Graduates from affiliated high schools or holders of
any teachers' certificates, whose approved units are less than
fifteen will be examined for the remaining number of units.
(3) Students from affiliated high schools who are not
graduates, will be required to take examination on all subjects
on which they expect credit.
In all cases, if a student, after being permitted to enter
college in any department, fails to demonstrate his ability
to carry the course with satisfaction to the professor in charge,
the amount of credit (entrance or college) given may be reduced
or cancelled, and he may be required to enter a lower
class.
4. ENTRANCE BY TEACHER'S CERTIFICATE.
A holder of a high school teachers' certificate, 12 units;
graduation from state normal school, three years' course, 15
units and 9 college credits; graduate from state normal, four
years' course, 15 units, and as many credits as the student's
record shows to have been completed. Deficiencies must be
met by examination or work in the college.
5. ENTRANCE FROM OTIER COLLEGES.
A student seeking admission from another college must
present a letter of honorable dismissal, a catalogue of the college
from which he comes, and a full statement of the work
he has done, including entrance credits. This statement must
be made out on an official blank and properly signed by the
authorities of the college where the work was done. He will
also furnish evidence of good moral character and honorable
standing in the school last attended.
CLASSIFICATION OF STUDENTS.
1. Regular.-A regular student is one who is taking at
least twelve hours of recitation per week and who conforms
to the requirements leading to a degree.
Regular students are ranked according to the amount of
work they have previously done. The ranks are as follows:
(1) Thirteen entrance units, "Conditional Freshmen."
(2) Fifteen entrance units, "Freshmen."I
