ART.
Miss HOGUE.
Abilene Christian College is justly very much pleased with
this department. The class has been large, and has done good
work in the past. Strong words of commendation are due Miss
Hogue for her excellent work in art and for the excellent results
of her teaching.
The education of every person should, when possible, embrace
the study of art, for it trains the eye, elevates the soul, and
creates an uplifting influence all through life by developing a
love of the beautiful in nature.
The work in this department includes:
1. Outline drawing in pencil.
2. Still life studies in pencil.
3. Study from cast in charcoal.
4. Flower study from nature in water color and oil.
5. Still life and flower painting in water color and oil.
6. Landscape painting in oil and water color.
7. Sketching from nature in water color.
Special attention is given to China Painting in Water Color.
HISTORY OF ART.
Including: History of Artists' Lives, Architecture and Scripture,
Painting, American Art, and Mythology. 1 hour a week,
36 weeks, 3-5 unit. Open only to college students.
CERTIFICATES.
Students who finish this course in a satisfactory manner will
be given a certificate of proficiency; provided, they shall haveSCHOOL OF FINE AARTS
