course to those general principles upon which good high school
teaching is based than to particular methods.
312.-Teaching High School French. Same as French 312.

313-A.-(f) High School Teaching. An advanced course
in high school methods. It deals with the nature and organization
of high school subject matter and the best methods of presenting
this to bring about the growth and development of the
adolescent.
313-B-(w)--Observation of Teaching. The course will consist
of the observance of teaching in the academy, the training
school and the Abilene Public Schools. Detailed reports must be
made of these and these reports will form a basis for class room
discussions. At least 36 clock hours of class room observation
will be required.
313-C-Practice Teaching. At least 36 clock hours of actual
class room teaching will be required of each person who takes
this course. The teaching will be done in our own training school
and academy and will be under the direct oversight of competent
critic teachers and under the general supervision of the Department
of Education.
IV. DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND PUBLIC SPEAKING.
ENGLISH.
113.-The purpose of this course and the two following
courses is to lead the student to a fuller and a freer self-expression.
Sentence and paragraph structure, punctuation, diction, and
spelling are carefully studied. Weekly and term themes are required.
