Correct pronunciation insisted upon from the first. The vocabularies,
idioms, and gramatical principles are fixexd in the memory
by extensive use of Spanish conversation; this causes the student
to acquire a living language, not a mere book-language. The
class will read such short stories, novels, and plays, as best show
forth Spanish and Spanish-American life, customs, and ideals.
Each student will be required to read during the year at least
one book from the Library on these customs, manners, and ideals,
as collateral reading.
