96 ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
GRADUATION.
Sixteen units are required for graduation. The following
units are required:
English ......-3.......3 units Plane Geometry --..-1....-1 unit
History ..............-.-2 units A Foreign Language....2 units
Algebra .......-........ .2 units Science .-...-..1-- ....-.-.....1 unit
Electives-.......-.....----- -- ...5 units
Girls may offer Home Economics in the place of Science.
Only three units may be counted in English and two in Bible.
All students will be required to take English and Bible each year
spent in the Academy.
Not more than one unit may be counted from either of the
Fine Arts Departments.
Any course in the Academy or any course for which the Department
of Education of Texas grants affiliation may be counted
as one of the five electives.
OUTLINE OF COURSES.
BIBLE
1.-This course covers the entire Bible by periods. The
purpose is to familiarize the students thoroughly with the different
periods of Bible history and the chief characters connected
with each period. The book must be properly divided
if it is to be thoroughly understood. We consider this one of
our most practical and valuable courses. Text: Sewell-Klingman,
The Bible Outlined in One Hundred Lessons.
- 2.-The Life of Christ is studied from the four Gospels in
chronological order.
3.-Acts of the Apostles and a historic view of the epistles
of Paul in their time order; the life of Paul; a practical study
of the other epistles and of Revelations.
4.-Great Men and Women of the Bible. The life and message
of the greatest Bible men and women. Used for observation
work in the Department of Bible and Religious Education.
ENGLISH.
1. Ward's Sentence and Theme finished. Thirty short
themes written and revised by the student. Greenlaw-Elson-Keck
