Stenography
There has never been such a demand for stenographers, especially
for young ladies. Many young men are being called from the offices
into the army. Young ladies must take these places. The government
is taking all stenographers who apply and are able to pass the
examination, at salaries of from $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 a year to start.
This is taking many, both men and women out of the office. The
longer the war lasts the greater the demand will be.
For the benefit of those who may desire instruction in these
very valuable branches, we have provided an instructor who has had
thorough training and two years office practice, and two years as
teacher in public schools. This work may be taken as a credit course
by students of the Freshman and Sophomore classes of the Junior
College without extra tuition charges. A typewriter fee of $2.00 a
month will be charged.
Students of the Junior and Senior classes of the Junior College
may carry a full college course and devote their spare time to this
work and equip themselves for first class commercial work without
any loss to their regular work. A charge of $3.00 a month will be
made, including the typewriter fee.
Students who devote their entire time to this work will be charged
$10.00 a month tuition, or the entire course will be given for $45.00
paid in advance.55
