28 ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
3. A unit in the Junior and Senior classes represents three hours
a week for thirty-six weeks.
4. When a passing grade has been made on only a part of a
course the course shall be reported incomplete.
5. The standing of the student is expressed in grades. The
grades are as follows: A (91-100), B (81-90), C (75-80), D (65-75),
E (60-65), A-Excellent; B-Good; C-Pass; D-Condition; E-Failure.
CONDITIONAL STUDENTS
1. Any student making a grade between 65-75 during a term may
be reported conditioned, provided the examination was not below 60.
2. Conditions of the first or second term may be removed (a) by
examination, (b) by good work in succeeding part of the year, (c)
by completing some assigned task. A third examination will not be
given.
WITHDRAWALS OR CHANGE OF COURSE
1. A certificate of honorable dismissal will be granted, upon making
request to the President, to any student who is of age and of good
standing that may wish to withdraw; but no student under age will
be granted such a certificate without his parents' request. Any student
ignoring this will be considered expelled.
2. After registration the student is given two weeks in which to
make changes in his course of study previously selected, with the
consent of the. Dean. No student will be permitted to change a course
later without first getting the permission of the Dean and the recommendation
of the instructor, and then paying a change fee of one dollar.
EXAMINATIONS
1. The last week of each term is devoted to examinations. Onethird
of the grade of the term is based on these examinations.
2. All examinations must be written, and in the Junior and
Senior classes they last three hours. Any student making below 50
on an examination will not be allowed to continue the course.
3. Any examination paper will be graded down as much as ten
points for poor English.
4. If a student is absent from the regular examination with excuse,
his grade is suspended until he takes a postponed examination;
but if he is absent without excuse, he is graded E and required to
take the work over.
GRADUATION AND DEGREES
Students who finish the work of the Junior College will be given
diplomas of graduation and have conferred on them the degree of
A. A. (Associate of Arts.)
