tention is given to planning and execution, the keeping of records,
and the general management of the different grades. All work is done
under the general direction of the superintendent, who is the executive
of the department and under the immediate direction of the critic
teacher, who supervise and direct the work of the student teachers.
The course of study is continuous through the primary, intermediate,
and grammar grades. It does not differ materially from the courses
offered in any other graded school, except that an attempt is made
to better adjust the subject matter of the curriculum to interests and
needs of the pupils.
While the school exists primarily for the purpose of training teachers,
yet the principle is maintained that the interests of the pupil shall
receive the most important consideration; and it is believed that whatever
advances the well-being of the child best serves the purpose for
which the school exists.
