Board of DirectorsWaller Creek Lumber Company
Waller Creek Lumber Company is now in the business of bringing you
back apart of Texas history. We have longleafpine available in astounding
dimensions.
There was once a stand of longleafpine trees in East Texas estimated at
107 billion board feet It covered 5,000 sq. miles from the Louisiana
Border to the Trinity River. These trees took over 150 years to mature and
reached heights of 145 feet By the turn of the 20th century they were gone.
When loggers cleared these virgin forests, the trees never returned. Their
delicate ecological balance had been permanently destroyed.
Once the primary structural and ornamental building material in Texas
and the gulf south, longleafpine is now available only through reclamation
of buildings constructed with those first ancient timbers. Everyone
familiar with accurate restoration andfine custom building has wished
for a permanent supply of this increasingly hard-to-find material It is
prized for its beautiful amber color, its super abundance of heart wood
(straight grain) and its incredible strength and density.
Now, Waller Creek Lumber Co. is set up to supply you with thisfine
native Texas wood in all dimensions and in any grade stock. Longleaf
pine is now available whenever a preferred option to other wood is
desired.Fo
